Yes, I disabel the comments (especially with very old entries). I got tired of reading self-absorbing/off-topic/hateful comments on my old entries. I wanted to be able to read my entries without off-putting comments. I sometimes don't disabel the new entries but I ended up disabeling them when the entries get very old.
