après la pluie

Japanese crêpes

Sally had the wonderful idea of trying out this Japanese crêperie shop with Sarah and I. It was a cute little store and the crêpes were delicious! We each ordered a savory crêpes and then we shared a sweet strawberry/chocolate crêpe.

I would definitely be happy to go there again.

(I loved how this one came with Pockys!)

eerie

My midnight photo shoots in the fog:

I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit spooked out every time I heard the footsteps of an approaching stranger. Aside from the few passer-bys, the streets were completely empty.

I nearly broke my camera while taking these pictures. My tripod, which had my camera attached to it, tipped over at one point and my camera hit the pavement. I really thought it broke because no matter what I pressed, there was no reaction. I freaked out! But then, when I took it back home, and tried switching it on again, it was miraculously working again (perhaps thanks to the warmth). The edge of the lens is chipped but the camera is still alive! Thank goodness!!! I don't know how devastated I would be if it actually broke!

pesto turkey

I made sandwiches for my classmate's party last Saturday!

I got various ingredients for this: bread, pesto sauce, oven-roasted turkey, swiss cheese, tomato, and lettuce.

I put some potato chips in them too! For the crunchiness.

I have been wanting to do more photography work, but I haven't had much time dedicated to that these days. I have a  few good ideas in my head and I hope to realize them soon!

Other than that, my left knee has not been feeling too well so I have to stay in and rest more. It is not very pleasant for me as I would much rather be more active.
I do hope it gets better soon.

Sarah's birthday

It was my housemate's birthday and we celebrated it with a potluck party at our house. I took a couple of photos throughout the night so here are some of them:

It was a fun, but also messy night! I had a good time and I hope my housemate enjoyed herself too!

coloured splashes

Snapped this shot right before getting on my bus:

I like the variety of colours reflected in the puddles.

Grouse Mountain

Hiked up Grouse Mountain in snowshoes with Sarah and Chaitra! The day was very foggy but luckily the weather was not too cold. I really enjoyed our little adventure up the snow mountain. We climbed to up to one of the peaks, which was about an altitude of about 1450 meters! It was an awesome work-out and I was really excited about all the photo shoot opportunities along the way!

(The photo with the three of us was taken by a passer-by)

hot chocolate

Drinking orange blossom flavoured hot chocolate with my housemate!

... and why not eat some chocolate covered cookies and light up a chocolate-looking (and smelling) candle while we're at it? =D

on Granville Bridge

Finally a night without rain! I went out with my camera and tripod and took some pictures on Granville Street Bridge. Most of them did not turn out that well (especially not on the big screen), but here is my favorite one of the bunch:

Caught the moving bus in the picture!

Original version

In comparison, I think I like the non-edited version better.

On West Broadway. The blue lights came from the holiday lights hanging over the sidewalk.

On Granville Street Bridge. A multitude of colourful lights coming from the buildings and streetlights in front. Also some lights from the coming cars on the corner right.

A shot of Granville Island from the bridge.
