a walk in the park

Spent part of my afternoon walking at a park in Mountain View with my parents. I enjoyed the sceneries and it was a pleasant walk! Because it was sunny, I got to capture the sun light in my photos.

I am currently reading a good novel called Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. I find his style of writing very beautiful. The story is filled with nostalgia, and although there is not much resemblance between my life and those of the main characters', I feel moved by the tragedies and happiness in their lives.

balloon bath

I've been wanting to do something like this for a while! Just got a tripod today for $17 and surely put it to good use, hehe!

Skytrain station

Caught a glimpse of the sunset as I was heading towards the Vancouver airport.

I am back in San Jose, CA, at my parents' place. A sunny day today, currently 15°C.

Walked along the pretty streets of Gastown on Sunday night. It was nice seeing holiday lights everywhere!

Christmas Market

Sally and I went to check out the German Christmas Market in Vancouver downtown today!

Vancouver Christmas Market.

Christmas balls.
I don't know if they are hand-made or what, but I really like how shiny and colourful they all looked.

Zooming-in on the details...

Fruit-looking soaps.
They looked really real! I bought some for my friend in Ottawa.

The Swiss raclette booth.
I thought of my housemate, Sarah, when I saw this. She is currently in Switzerland, probably eating this with her family!

A little wooden toy. I like this one cause it had little gingerbread men on it.

Little decorations.
I think they were made out of metal because they were quite heavy.

These were chocolates.

Sally and I under a huge candy-cane!

illuminate

Finally finished my last exam and handed in my last paper yesterday!!
Later last night, I went to my friend's (Bob's) work party and had an awesome time! Ate so much good food and my friend was really fun to hang-out and talk with. I also met his co-worker and their "dates". Lots of cool people!

Here are a few pictures I took at the party.

ice cream dessert

An amazing ice cream dessert that Sarah and I tried out tonight at this Afghan/Indian/Tibetan restaurant called East is East!

Eastern Ecstasy: rice pudding & gulab jaman, topped with kulfi

Mmm, mmm, good!

Wishing there were more sunny days in Vancouver right now. The constant rain outside combined with the pile of school work and approaching deadlines is getting to me.

on my day off

I had a day off today because it was Remembrance Day. I felt like taking pictures throughout the day so I did!

Voilà un aperçu d'une journée dans ma vie!

Woke up at 9:30ish with the idea that I should document my day in photos!

Getting ready... in my Hello Kitty shirt. Hehe. ^^

Sarah and I called our friend Basanth in Toronto to wish him a happy birthday!

Eating cereal in my favourite cup.

A trip to the grocery store. We brought the trolley with us lol.

Took a few self-portraits outside of my house before coming back in. =P

What I got for groceries (about $20). I found Wahaha, a drink I enjoyed when I was a kid in China!

Spent part of my afternoon doing readings for my historiography paper on the Manchurian Occupation in the 1930s.

Preparing for dinner. Haven't cooked in a while!

Of course, the pre-meal picture!
(stir fry beef with veggies, fake crab + mushroom + egg, steamed rice... it was good!)

Spent the rest of my night procrastinating, snacking, reading, photo-editing, and folding my clothes from the laundry. Watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother too.

It was a nice and relaxing day!
