goodbye Prague...

I left Prague on Thursday morning. How quickly these three months have gone by. I became very fond of this lovely city and have many good memories with the people I met there. I was sad to go.

By now I have become really used to moving from place to place, to constantly live a temporary life. To meet new people, share some memorable moments, then to say goodbye. Goodbyes are sad, but I have become used to them too. Life goes on, and I need to keep going with it.

But when I can, I want to enjoy myself, enjoy the present, to live life to the fullest, and to be there for those I like and care about.

I think with each move, I change. This time, I realize how much more I have come to embrace differences and diversity, and how more open and receptive I am towards them. At the same time, I also realize I have a stronger sense of self, of my own values, and where I stand. I have become more determined to go after what I want, not always be hampered by what others would say or think.

I also realize how grateful I am towards my friends and towards those who have shown kindness and sincerity to me. How fond I am of all those little moments when I felt a connection with another human being. Because when you connect with someone, even if it is brief, it matters. At least to me it does!

Really, I want to do good in this world and treat others well. I want to do things because it is what I want to do, and I like doing them. I want to love for the sake of loving, dance for the sake of dancing, and give for the sake of giving. I want to find the goodness in things and in people because I believe it exists. I want to discover, learn, and appreciate.

I think my experience Prague has encouraged me to do all of that.

I really had an enjoyable time there, and am very thankful for it!
Goodbye lovely Prague~

a sunny day in April

It's been a while since I did "a day in photos" blog post so I decided to do one today!

A SUNNY DAY IN APRIL

MORNING:

I woke up and checked the weather network - a sunny and warm day ahead! =D

Cutting the vegetables for my breakfast.

I decided to make pasta for breakfast... lol why not?  I drank some apple juice with it too.

OUT FOR A WALK:

To match the weather, I wore a flowery dress.^^

Some streets were filled with blooming cherry blossoms.

Many pleasant-looking sights. I think the sunlight helps a lot.

Looks like a nice spot to spend an afternoon with a friend and drinking coffee.

Does this ressemble something? ...a lama!

Hanging cups on the branches - wonder if it is for the birds to drink.

LUNCH TIME:

Who wouldn't want a free kitten?!

Turkey pesto sandwich! I first discovered it in October with Sarah, when we were house-hunting together and decided to go into this coffeeshop for its internet.

A dog waiting outside for his owner. A lot of people smiled at it when they walked by. =)

OFF TO CAMPUS

A glimpse of the ocean.

A rainbow in the fountain!

Got a bouquet of daisies on my way back home.

I think they're my favorite flowers cause they're so simple, yet  still pretty and colourful.

AT HOME:

My awesome housemate surprised me with a bowl of chicken and rice that she brought for me from her workplace!  So nice!

Books I got from the library today - planning to browse through them tonight...

****

I enjoy days like this when I am not stressed with work and can take my time to do whatever I want.

It's cherry blossom season here in Vancouver! I have been looking forward to this. I took some time off from my busy schedule and went to visit them this morning. They're such beautiful little flowers. and seeing them really brightened up my day!

Drinking orange blossom flavoured hot chocolate with my housemate!

... and why not eat some chocolate covered cookies and light up a chocolate-looking (and smelling) candle while we're at it? =D

Finally finished my last exam and handed in my last paper yesterday!!
Later last night, I went to my friend's (Bob's) work party and had an awesome time! Ate so much good food and my friend was really fun to hang-out and talk with. I also met his co-worker and their "dates". Lots of cool people!

Here are a few pictures I took at the party.

on my day off

I had a day off today because it was Remembrance Day. I felt like taking pictures throughout the day so I did!

Voilà un aperçu d'une journée dans ma vie!

Woke up at 9:30ish with the idea that I should document my day in photos!

Getting ready... in my Hello Kitty shirt. Hehe. ^^

Sarah and I called our friend Basanth in Toronto to wish him a happy birthday!

Eating cereal in my favourite cup.

A trip to the grocery store. We brought the trolley with us lol.

Took a few self-portraits outside of my house before coming back in. =P

What I got for groceries (about $20). I found Wahaha, a drink I enjoyed when I was a kid in China!

Spent part of my afternoon doing readings for my historiography paper on the Manchurian Occupation in the 1930s.

Preparing for dinner. Haven't cooked in a while!

Of course, the pre-meal picture!
(stir fry beef with veggies, fake crab + mushroom + egg, steamed rice... it was good!)

Spent the rest of my night procrastinating, snacking, reading, photo-editing, and folding my clothes from the laundry. Watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother too.

It was a nice and relaxing day!
