Maybe by muting all colours except one, we will see things a bit differently...

little flag girl

Saw this little girl run around happily with a Chinese flag in her hand while her dad was trying to catch up to her!
Why are children so easily amused? =)

The busy streets of Zhengzhou, Henan.

Gosh I stress out every time I cross the streets here in China!

BJTU

Yesterday I had a good afternoon with my Chinese friend Alex. He took me to his undergrad school, Beijing Jiaotong University, to take some photography of the colourful autumn leaves, but it turned out that most of the trees were still green. So instead, we mostly just walked around, sat somewhere every now and then, ate some stuff, etc... it was really nice! A sunny and relaxing day! Did not have to rush, did not have to go anywhere in particular...

At the football/soccer field - we sat on one of those concrete benches and ate some yogurt!

It was neat to be at a Chinese university campus and to feel that "student atmosphere" again!

孩和猫

A kid and a cat!

While the dad was selling souvenirs at a stall, this little girl squatted nearby and amused herself by playing with this street cat. I thought it was really cute how she was petting the cat with her little hand, while her other hand held a bunch of wild grass.

Unfortunately the dad thought the kid and the cat was in the way of the passer-bys so he stomped his feet and scared the cat away. The kid looked sad when the cat ran away. I felt a little sad for her too!

weekend wandering

A few photos taken over the weekend while wandering around Beijing with my cousin Jenny~

It sure is tiring wandering around this big city!! A lot of walking and a lot of standing. Our legs and feet were in great pain by the end of the day!

people on bridge

I pass under this bridge every day on my way to the subway to get to work! From below, the passengers on the bridge look so distant and tiny - makes me think of moving ants.

Location: Haidian district, Beijing.

I have been in China for a week now, but haven't been posting much because I haven't had time to do much photography since I got here. But as I will be in Beijing for the next 4-5 months, I look forward to discover more of Beijing and the rest of China with my camera by my side!

After work today I went to an event with my Czech co-worker and through her I met two guys from the Republic of the Congo (French Congo). I was very enhanted to meet them and I was happy that they were quite open to me and that we had some interesting conversations together about Africa. As the two Congolese guys spoke mainly French and Czech (and not much English), and my Czech friend spoke only Czech and English (no French), and and I spoke English and French (but no Czech), you can imagine the kind of multilingual conversations we had with each other!!

at B's

I had a nice evening with my Czech friend, who invited me over for a BBQ dinner!

It was nice spending the evening with my friend, her roommate, and her landlord. They are all Czech like my friend! The food was great and I also really enjoyed the conversations we had. I think we can learn a lot from each other by listening to and sharing with one another, and I'm glad I was in good company for that tonight!

The house was built in 1882, so over a century year old!

distortions

Found a new way on Photoshop to make "bubbly" photos without using my fisheye lens!

I will be in Vienna for the weekend to visit the city and hang-out with my friend! Looking forward to it!!
Need to sleep now, pack in the morning, and catch my bus at noon time. =)
